Day 1: Arrival in Luang Prabang

Upon your arrival at Luang Prabang International Airport, your expert guide will greet you and escort you to your chosen hotel via private transportation. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Today, embark on a guided tour of Luang Prabang, starting with visits to the city’s oldest temples, including Wat Sene and the stunning Wat Xiengthong, known for its low-sweeping roofs that showcase classical Laotian architecture. After exploring the temples, cruise upstream on the Mekong River, enjoying breathtaking views of the serene countryside. Discover the enchanting Pak Ou Caves, filled with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues left by devoted pilgrims. We’ll also stop at Ban Xanghai, famous for its local rice wine production, and visit Ban Phanom, renowned for its traditional hand weaving. Overnight in Luang Prabang (Breakfast).

Optional: Rise early to participate in the unique morning ritual where saffron-clad monks collect alms from local residents. This cherished tradition is a hallmark of Laos, the only Buddhist nation to maintain it. After breakfast, visit the National Museum (closed Tuesdays) located in the former Royal Palace, which houses artifacts that showcase the rich culture of Laos. Explore the vibrant Central Market before heading to Khouangsi Waterfall. Along the way, stop at local villages of Lao ethnic minorities, including Ban Ouay, Ban Ou, Laoloum, and Ban Thapene. At Khouangsi Waterfall, you can swim in the inviting pools or stroll along scenic forest trails. Afterward, return to Luang Prabang and visit Ban Xangkhong, famous for silk weaving and traditional Saa paper making. Overnight in Luang Prabang (Breakfast).

  • 8:30 am – 9:00 am: Pickup from your hotel by our English-speaking guide.
  • Arrive at Elephant Village Camp for a warm welcome and a briefing about the elephants.
  • Elephant Ride: Experience a thrilling 3 km ride on an elephant, either on the howdah (seat) or on its neck (2 people per elephant).
  • Mahout Training: Learn the basics of controlling an elephant during your training session.
  • Lunch: Enjoy a buffet lunch at the Elephant Camp restaurant, with vegetarian options available.
  • Bathing Experience: Take your elephant to the Nam Khan River for a memorable bathing experience.
  • Boat Trip: Relax on a traditional Lao long boat to Tad Sae Waterfall, where you can dip your feet or swim in the refreshing waters.
  • Departure: Transfer back to your hotel in Luang Prabang between 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Overnight in Luang Prabang (Breakfast, Lunch).

Day 5: Luang Prabang – Departure

Enjoy breakfast and spend your morning at leisure until it’s time for your transfer to the airport for your onward flight. End of tour in Laos
