🕘 08:30 AM / 02:00 PM – Hotel Pick-Up
- Meet your friendly local guide and driver.
- Head to a traditional village located ~20–30 minutes outside Siem Reap.
🏡 09:00 AM / 02:30 PM – Arrival at Basket-Weaving Family Home
- Warm welcome by a Khmer family who makes traditional baskets from bamboo, rattan, or palm leaves.
- Short introduction about their daily life, history of the craft, and how basket weaving supports rural livelihoods.
🧵 09:15 AM / 02:45 PM – Hands-On Basket Weaving Workshop
- Learn the basics of Cambodian weaving:
- How to cut and prepare materials
- Step-by-step guidance to make your own small basket or mat
- The host family will assist while you weave your souvenir to take home.
- Relaxed, non-commercial, and meaningful exchange.
🚶♂️ 10:30 AM / 04:00 PM – Village Walking Tour
- Guided walk around the village:
- Visit rice paddies, traditional stilt houses, and local gardens
- Stop at a pagoda or small community center if available
- Great for candid photos and learning about daily Khmer rural life.
🍘 11:15 AM / 04:45 PM – Khmer Snack Break
- Return to the family home for light local refreshments:
- Sticky rice with banana
- Grilled coconut cakes
- Palm sugar tea or fresh coconut juice
- Chat with the family before departure.
