Day 1: Arrival in Luang Prabang

Upon arrival at Luang Prabang International Airport, your expert guide will greet you and escort you to your selected hotel. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Today, explore Luang Prabang's oldest temples, including Wat Sene and the stunning Wat Xiengthong, an exemplar of traditional Laotian architecture. Then, embark on a scenic cruise along the Mekong River to the mystical Pak Ou Caves, home to thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues left by devoted pilgrims. We'll also visit the village of Ban Xanghai, known for its local rice wine production, before stopping at Ban Phanom, famous for its exquisite hand-weaving. Overnight in Luang Prabang (Breakfast).

For an optional early start, witness the serene morning ritual of monks collecting alms. After breakfast, visit the National Museum in the former Royal Palace and explore the Central Market. Next, we head to Khouangsi Waterfall, stopping at local villages to learn about Lao ethnic cultures along the way. Enjoy a refreshing dip in the waterfall's inviting pools or stroll along its scenic trails before returning to Luang Prabang, with a visit to Ban Xangkhong to see silk weaving and traditional Saa paper-making. Overnight in Luang Prabang (Breakfast).

After breakfast, enjoy some leisure time before your transfer to the airport for a short flight to Pakse. Upon arrival, journey south to Champasak to explore the pre-Angkorian ruins of Wat Phu, a stunning temple nestled at the base of Mount Phu Kao. Overnight in Champasak / Done Daeng Island (Breakfast).

This morning, depart for the scenic Bolaven Plateau, known for its cooler climate. First, visit Ban Lak Sipkao, a village renowned for knife-making. Continue to a tea plantation, then the beautiful Tad Fan Waterfall. Visit a coffee plantation and the vibrant Tha Teng Market, and explore the unique minority villages of Ban Pong Neua and Ban Kokphung. Finally, enjoy the stunning Tadlo Waterfall before returning to your accommodation. Overnight in Champasak / Done Daeng Island (Breakfast).

After breakfast, head to Ban Hatsaikhoune and board a local boat for a tour of the enchanting 4000 Islands. Arrive at Don Khone by lunchtime, where you can explore by bicycle, Tuk Tuk, or on foot, visiting old railway routes and charming French colonial buildings, as well as the breathtaking Liphi Waterfall. On our way back, we’ll stop at Khone Phapheng Falls, one of Southeast Asia’s largest waterfalls. Overnight in Champasak / Done Daeng Island (Breakfast).

Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy some free time before returning to the mainland by boat, then drive to Pakse Airport for your departure.   End of the tour in Laos!
